Started in 2002, this Department offers a B.Tech degree programme in one of the most revolutionizing branches involving the application of the principles of engineering and technologies to life sciences. Still in its
infancy, this department shall emerge premier in this field under the able guidance of its faculty.

Biotechnology involves the study of biological substances to perform specific industrial or manufacturing processes. Applications include the production of certain drugs, synthesis of hormones, as well as the bio-conversion of organic wastes and the use of genetically altered bacteria in the clean up of oil spills.

It is the student body of biotechnology department, formed in 2002. The objective of the body is to provide managerial skills, good leadership qualities and to make students competent for the industry. It also conducts seminars and talks in the field of bioengineering.
